Just in case anybody was wondering, I called S&B performance, because I want to put a S&B CAI on my 09 F-150. They don't have one listed yet on their site, so I asked them when they were going to be available.

They said because of the economy, they are not rushing that product line, so they said to expect it available in July, maybe August.

 

I got the same reply last week. Do you know if the S&B CAI needs a custom tune and or can you run a stock fuel map?

 

From the way I understand it, it is safe to run an aftermarket exhaust without a custom tune, but once you get the CAI, it is best to get a custom tune for it. First, in order to utilize the CAI the best way possible, and secondly, to make sure you are not hurting the engine by it running too lean.


Hey, maybe if enough of us keep calling and asking when it will be available, maybe they'll push it up to April or May!! Wishful thinking I guess...
