Seriously, you guys want the world!
I got one of those with my 86 Ranger, and I've installed her in every truck since. Works real well and looks good too!

I agree with SteveVXF4. I also used to use those channels to hold on to when washing or waxing that part of the roof. I also have trouble with just a little bit of water running onto the seats. I don't understand their line of thought in changing that area. Can I live with it? Yes. Is it annoying? Yes

Good thoughts here are a few more that would have "topped off" my Platinum ownership experience:
1) Auto up AND down on all the windows (at the very least from the driver's switches)
2) Global down on all windows (using the key fob and by being able to turn and hold the driver's key cylinder for either global up or down)
3) Rear passenger reading lights (overhead) rather than just the one dim dome light in the middle
4) Footwell lights and the rear console side lights to light up the footwells when getting in after dark
5) Rear wheel well liners
6) Locking gas cap cover - especially with the "capless" fuel filler.
7)Glove box and center console lighting
8) Ambient interior lighting - both my BMW's have this and it is quite nice when driving at night.
9) Small thing - but the headlight **** should be illuminated just like the radio control *****..would look great at night
10) Having the "Platinum" name (in the IC area) illuminate - like my '05 Lariat's did.
11) Making the IC a bit more upscale (rather than all silver plastic w/ printed on looking guage labels) like the IC in my '05 Lariat.
12) Optional self-leveling Xenon lighting - would be fantastic for when you have a load or are towing
13) Focus ability for the rear view camera
14) Dual fans for the dual mode climate control - really would be dual mode then.
15) An "auto clean" button - like a self cleaning oven

If the truck gets rained on, and water pools on the roof, when you go to drive away, I noticed the water runs down both front door windows. Luckily, it's been cold out and my windows were up at the time. But I can see someone putting their windows down in the summer after the truck gets rained on, and then all the water will runoff and come in through the front windows as you drive off!
Steve, I too was noticing the difference in rain channels...appears to be the same size - just that Ford deleted the plastic channel cover moulding (black piece) that ran along the side of the windshield from the cowl level all the way over the roof to the back of the cab. We still have about 6"s there in the rear. My theory is that now water can "splash" through and over the channels easier resulting in some getting down the sides. I suspect this is due to the new windshield mounting which I like (much cleaner looking) as compared to my '05 that had the plastic mouldings on either side of the windshield and the messy "glue" along the top front seam. While I haven't had any issue with this - I think the answer would be to not roll the windows down when water is pooled on the roof until you get over 15mph. Although I have washed mine and then driven it (before drying) and it only ran down the rear window...

Platinum doesn't - even my '05 Lariat had both overhead dome and reading lights. With the Sienna Brown...er black interior it is quite dark back there at night.

Yeah Steve, I checked the other day and damn if they didn't make the channel smaller, although they left it big in the very back where the black stuff is still inside the channel, although it is not the same rubber from the '04, more like a hard plastic piece that is screwed in to the channel. Very strange indeed.

HotLap, if you pony up for a 2010 PLAT it will have ambient lighting in the footwells (driver&passenger) and front cupholders. Nothing says luxury like having your Mt. Dew reflecting at night.

It's a very nice feature when getting into / out of a vehicle (especially with dark carpets) at night. I'm going to add them by tapping into the overhead dome circuit. They will operate the same as the overhead dome lights including the fade to off feature. I'll probably get a couple of lamp units and add them to the rear sides of the console to illuminate the rear floors when getting in and out in the dark as well.

They already have that kit for purchase to fit to the 09's. It's on one of the ford parts websites.
