My Return to Ford

Picked up my new 09 F150 this morning.Built last week and delivered this week.
What a nice ride. I traded in a Toyota. I drove Fords until 10 years ago and went to Toyota. Had Ford withdrawal symptoms {stomach upset and nervious}for three days. So far I seem to be ok so maybe I made the right decision to go with ford.Tundra is nice but not this nice.
I got a 09 F150 ,XLT,Supercab,4x4 with the three valve 4.6 with six speed trans. and 3.73 axle ratio. Stone Green/Pueblo Gold two tone.
I live in a very hilly state.Dealer was in another town. I drove about 50 miles at 70 mph and the trip computer said I averaged 18.9 when I got home.I am pleased with that. I am glad now I got the 4.6 with 3.73 gears. it seems to have plenty power.I think the lower 3.73 gears improve gas mileage in mountainous regions.
I think I will go out now and take another drive.

Welcome! And congrats, please post some pics.
What did you do to have it built last week and delivered this week? I can't even get a delivery date and my truck was also built last week.

welcome and enjoy your ride.

I never heard of a vehicle built one week and delivered the next.

Congrats! My truck is supposed to be built this week. The individual who gave me the build date said I should expect an ETA of May 1st or 2nd.

I was guessing the 1st or 2nd week of May. You've got me wondering whether it is going to be here sooner than I think!

They told me a couple weeks after I ordered it the build date was the week of the 20th and delivery the week of the 27th.I checked last thursday and they said it was built monday or tuesday. It was delivered to the dealer yesterday evening the day the paper work said it would.I picked it up this morning.Your dealer should be able to tell you the date that is scheduled.Of course that could be delayed by the trucking co.but i would not think very much.
I hope it wasn't the first one built after factory startup. It did come from Kansas City.Evry thigs seems ok and all the body panels have a good fit.
One thought about building it after 3 week shut down is if they had to make any changes or adjustments or calibration of equipment it was most likely down while the plant was down.So I am trying to look at that as a positive.
So far no Toyota withdraw symptons.I drove over a 100 miles today.

I was in the same position as you. I talked to my dealer as well and confirmed that my truck was built on April 21. However, according to my dealer there is no scheduled delivery date, and the truck has 'not been picked up', whatever that means. Maybe they have to batch ship them since its international? I have no idea how Ford handles their logistics, so I am really at the mercy of my dealer.

I will see if I can figure out how to get a picture uploaded.I had a Ford original equipment style pin stripe add from the front to rear of cab.Like they used to put on them. The stripe is the same color as the bottom of truck.mames it look good and breaks up size the truck a little.
