You used to be able to get leather with an XLT, did they change this?

Yes - been through the "build your own" a couple times with different configurations -

Leather only available in FX4, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum.

I’ve always been the cloth seats, middle of the road kind of guy…..well this time just prior to starting the deal I thought, like my little nephew… “What the Heck”……I went Lariat…..first leather and fancy shmancy truck and boy do I love it…..I’m so glad I went the way I did…..the more I look at it and the fancy options, it totally rocks.

Good luck in your decision process……biggest thing is YOUR going to pay for it, get something you’ll be happy to send the payment out every month on…..

rosscoalta,

What level of trim are your current/past vehicles? Do they have leather seats?

You can use the F-150 features chart to see what you might like or not like about each trim level. Some things are optional on the XLT that are standard on a Lariat, other things are not availible on the XLT (leather, wood dash trim, 10-way adjustable seats, Message center, Homelink, leather wrapped steering wheel, auto dimming mirror, lighted vanity mirrors)

Exactly! That's why at the end of '05, I saved $7k and bought the XLT. My next one will be a Lariat though, as I should (hopefully) be in a better position to spend the extra $7k.

No matter which one you buy, I'm sure you'll love it! Good luck!

Well with these trucks you really can't go wrong either way. They all look great. If you have the means available to obtain the Lariat then that's the way I'd go. I think you should always try to get the one you really want otherwise don't get one at all because you won't be as happy. You'll always see the one you wish you would have bought around town and say "man, why didn't I get that one". It tends to eat at you after a while. Take it from my experience and go with the one that provides the perfect balance between your wallet and what you want. Good luck.
