You can get a XLT with a lot of options for less $$$, but you lose out on some of the nice features that are not available

If the Lariat is too much for your liking, get the XLT. You can get the XLT with 5.4 engine and 6 speed transmission, just like the Lariat but without some upgrades like leather seats.

In my humble opinion, I think a solid colored XLT with chrome package looks better than a Lariat.

What's making your decision hard to make?

It's the $7000.00 difference. I am just afraid I will regret not getting the nicer truck with the console, leather, etc. The XLT looks nice though.

Thanks!

I'll be honest with you. The dealer where I bought my truck had a stone green XLT screw with chrome package and it really caught my eye. Razor red does the same on the XLT with the same package, in my humble opinion. You can get a very nicely equipped XLT and in my opinion, they look better than most Lariats.

If you can't appreciate the $7k difference now, you can appreciate how much cheaper the XLT is versus the Lariat later.

Thanks ! I would love to find a King Ranch 2WD with not a lot of options but they don't exist out there.

Thanks!

The King Ranch comes pretty well loaded, I'd imagine it's "base" price is more than the Lariat! If you can comfortably swing it, I'd go the Lariat route as there is nothing worse than regretting the options/features you wish you would have gotten every time you drive the vehicle. Either is nice, and if you do go the XLT route - be sure and get the chrome package and upgrade to the 20" wheels....

If you are looking at both always go for the better model if you can afford it. There's nothing worse than regretting your decision thinking you should have gone with the better one when the amount difference is so small. It's a big purchase no mater how you look at it. Make it worth while and get the one you want and not base it on price.

I went from a 2004 Lariat to a 2008 XLT (60th Anniversary Edition).
After about a year, I moved back into a 2009 Lariat, mostly because I missed the little extra features the XLT just didn't have.
Still, just depends on what you are used to/looking for.

I think I may go for the Lariat or King Ranch. I have the finances to do whatever it is just that this economy is scary right now.
My head says XLT but my heart wants King Ranch!!!
