Considering a new F150. (2009 or 2010)
I am considering purchasing a new 2009 F150 STX 4WD (loaded). With all incentives the price will be about $26,000 straight sale.
A few questions I have are:
Is this a good price?
Is it common for the STX not to have carpet? It looks like the option package that gives you power windows & door locks deletes the carpet?
Is it worth it to get the 3 Valve 4.6L with the 3.55 gear ratio or a 2 valve w/ 3.73 gears. Highway gas mileage is somewhat a concern.
The dealer told me that the 2010s will be out in the fall. Does anyone know of any changes for the 2010 model?
Sorry about all the questions. All help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Scott

I'm pretty sure the 6 speed is only available with the 3 valve. That being said, the 6 speed would be a lot better so I would get the 3v.
As far as the 2010 models go, there are not going to be any huge changes as 09 was a model change over, but there are a lot of people saying there will be more engines options for the 2010 model year.

By “loaded” I meant all available options for the STX. I never thought "loaded" ment top trim level. Guess I'm old school from when there were not so many trim levels and trucks never had leather interior.

No 5.4L STX. I'm just saying that regardless of trim level, I see little reason not to get the 5.4L/6-spd combo. Now if someone really wants the STX trim level, fine. The 4.6L 3V + 6-spd combo gets 1mpg better city and highway while providing about twice the wheel torque in first gear than the 4-spd.
Anyway, thanks for the clarification on loaded.
