Test drove FX4 Today!!!

Well I am possibly the weekend away from telling the dealer to trade for the exact truck I want, and convincing the boss that we should go ahead and trade my Titan.

2009 FX4 SCrew
FX Plus Pkg
Drivers Convienence Pkg
Chrome Step Bars
Silver with Sterling Grey two tone at bottom.
Black Sport cloth with captains chairs and floor shifter

MSRP $39,500
XPlan $36,100
Rebates $4,000
Final cost $32,100, is this a good enough price or is there still room to negotiate?

Trade on 2007 Nissan Titan SE 4x4 Crew with 76,000 miles, $14,000.

Let me know your opinion of this deal.

You can't go wrong with X-plan pricing but some people have been buying trucks at prices less then X-plan. The consensus is about 20% discount and that includes the rebates. Some members have done better, some not so well.

Check out truecar.com for prices in your area for the same/similar truck.

It is a lightly optioned FX4 no leather, max tow, brake controller etc. It is a fair price

I am about ready to buy my new 09 FX4 this weekend possibly, depending on how the final battle with my sales guy goes.

basically, I have them down to $800 up on dealer invoice, and all factory options at cost. Along with the rebates and 0% financing, this isnt bad.

I don't have an Xplan PIN yet, but how much more could I be saving?

With out an xplan pin, how much could you get a sales guy down? Get him down exactly to dealer invoice? Get him down to below dealer invoice - How is that possible?

If it is a factory order, and isnt on the lot, does the 2% holdback profit still apply to the dealer?

Thanks

X plan is usually 10% off sticker. 15-20% is about the max low ball. I post ed an invoice in another price thread. Usually 7-9K off sticker on a 40-43K truck is all you can get.

I convinced the boss today and put down the deposit for the dealer to make the trade for my truck. Due to the fact we are going to try and sell my 07 Titan I will not get the new truck until next Friday. Wish patience was a virtue of mine, I am already chomping at the bit.

Congradulations on the decision!

And don't feel bad - from the day I took the test drive, to the day I brought it home (today ) was 21 days.....tough wait but certainly worth it in the end.

I just want to know who thought it would be a good idea to buy a titan in the first place, you almost never see one on the road. Maybe you should drive the new Ford and put the Titan in storage. Twenty years from now you would have one of the last working Titans and it would be a collectors item.

All of a sudden my neighbor has one of those, like the past week or so. Have to wonder if he didn't get sad at seeing my new PLATINUM in my driveway, so he went out and found a titan on the cheap. I imagine they are cheap anyways; since no one buys them as judged by my lack of almost never seeing them on the roads. How come nissan and toyota have such strange ideas of what a nice truck looks like? The titan is just really strange, and the tundra looks like one gigantic piece of molded metal with no design cues whatsoever.
