Question I need an X-Plan pin

Hi guys!

I was referred over here from a friend on TacomaWorld.com. I currently have a Tacoma but am trading that puppy in for an F150!

I am trying to get the best deal I can since money is a little tight and my buddy said that if I can get the X-Plan it is a discounted price with no questions asked at the dealership?

Well I hope I am going in the right direction with this and if anybody can help me I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!
~Slim

Welcome to the forums. I didn’t use an x-plan but I heard you can get great deals with them. I went with the old fashion way of working the dealer down to where we were both happy with the price. Depending on which model you go with you can get almost any Ford dealership to drop several thousand off a brand new 2009 F150. I have reads up to 12,000 off if you have a really high credit score.

I really think you will like the new F150’s. The XLT and FX4 models are the most popular. I suggest testing driving the different model to see which you prefer. It doesn’t have a lot of horsepower like what some of the other trucks offer, but where it lacks in power it gains in drivability, handling, towing, hauling, and is just over an awesome truck to own.

How much off of MSRP Sticker should I be shooting for? I am not the best at this lol and don't want to get raped. Everytime I step onto a dealership lot I think of the movie "Suckers" lol

From what I've seen, at or around 20% has been the norm.

These days you can get the same and better than x-plan. You should be looking at about 20% off MSRP as a good figure some have got a couple more % and some a couple less % so just give ya dealer a go and tell him that you are interested in the truck as long as the price is right and that you have seen online that people are getting around 22% of MSRP and see how it goes. He may offer you 20% which is good but he may go straight to 22%. Dont let them tell you that prices like that aint possible as 95% of people on here got 18%+ discount.

Does this only apply to Ford? My Fiance is looking to getting a GMC herself.

No idea...didn't give much consideration to GM or Dodge when I was looking for a new truck.

Man that stinks man, I guess some of ur dealerships are in better shape. I could have been in a 09 FX4 right now if the dude would have came off his price 10% he wouldn't budge not one damn dime.

try another dealership...even if it's not close. you should be able to negotiate over the phone/e-mail.

$7000 off of a $35k sticker? It's closer to 12%. My sticker was $33,700 and Xplan was $29,650. The Xplan price is printed in a box on the invoice. Make sure you ask to see it.

Oh, almost forgot, there was an additional $1,000 rebate for Xplan.

You have to be crazy to buy a vehicle from Government Motors right now.
