OK, stay away from rims with 4.5" of BS on the 09's (with 2.5" level)

Running a 305-55-R20 Mickey T ATZ's (33x12.5) on a set of 20x9 KMC HOSS chromes -12mm offset and 4.5" of backspacing.

First, there is a bout 2.5-3" of poke, or wheel out of the wheel well (just about level with the running boards). Looks like fender flare are a must for me.

And second (dont like this one)...

With wheel at 3-4 to full lock, the rotational travel of the tire comes back and there is only a paper thin gap between the tire and the inner fender and lower plastics nearing the rear of the front fender well. With this trimmed up, there is only about 1/4" in there.

I will snap a few pics tonight and post them up.

This is running a 2.5" leveling kits as well.

Looks forward to seeing these pictures tonight, I was considering going with BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO 305/65R/18 on a 2” leveling kit. It is my understanding these will fit with no problems.

Wow, that bad? I would get the fender flares if you can. They look sweet, plus it will keep you from chipping up your brand new 09 paint.

They should go with no problem. The concern is the 4.5" of backspacing on the rims. with a shallow backspacing like these have there is alot of tire that sticks out. So when you crank the wheel, the outside and ended of the tire "travel" alot further than a with with lets say 5.5" of BS. Stock is 6" i think.

My stock wheel backspacing is 5.5, but it appears I will run into a similar issues because the rims I am buying have an offset -12mm and a backspace of 4.5, so they will stick out 2.5 more than my current set-up.

From the looks of the 09's it should be pretty much the same as the 04-08's. Which should be pretty accurate they didn't make much or any suspension changes that I know of....except the lower control arm. You can run 4.5" BS on a 9" wheel but it does stick out a decent amount. Better BS would be around 5.5" BS on a 9" wheel.

here's my old wheels and tires on my 05
18x9 with 5.39" BS
325/60/18 tires (approx. 33 x 13")
The tires stuck out past the nerf bars at least an 1" if not more. A more narrow tire helps too with how far they stick out.

The overall wheel width will make a difference. For example an 8" wheel with 4.5" BS will be 1" further in than a 4.5" BS on a 9" wheel.

I will have to post the pics to show you. There must be something different on the 09's then the 04-08's seeing the trouble i am having. M ight even through the rims on my dads leveled 05 to see if there is a difference too, cant do that until next week.

This thread has an 09 with the same setup I had. The tires look to stick out the same amount mine did.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...6885-pics.html

If the BS on the stock wheels are the same as the 04-08's at 7.5" wide with 5.5" BS. A 9" wheel with 4.5"BS will stick out 2.5" further. Then count on the width of the tire sticking over the edge of the wheel you are looking at least 3" further out than stock.

I don't know about the 09's but factory my 05 tires were just about even with the wheel wheels. This is why I chose not to run a 4.5" BS even though alot of guys on here do. I just thought they stuck out too far.

Hope you get it figured out.

Here are a few pictures of my 09 with a 9" wheel with +12 Offset and 35x12.5R20 Toyo MT's. I also found this calculater to be a great help when looking to find the right wheel for my truck. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Even with 6" of lift, I had to trim a bit off of the front valance to keep from rubbing.

Ok, here is my ride now with everything istalled, trimed fitted and ready to roll. It turned out alot better now that everything is finished and completely installed. There was alot of trimming i had to do to ensure no rub, but all in all.... whatever, its done and looks good.

Was a little nervous with all the trimming though. Here are the pics....

This is the back of the front well

Thats looks great to me. The FX4's look better with painted fender flares anyway. You just did yourself a favor! Ive been trying to get those wheels myself for a while, but they are nationwide backorder, or so i was told.

I think that looks awesome. That does give me an idea what mine will look like when my wheels and tires come in. A set of pocket fender flares would make it look complete.
