Are the brakes (rotors, pads, etc)...

on the 09's the same as what was on the 08's etc? Curiosity begs.

I bet there is a good chance that it is all the same. I already told you before that the pads were the same based on the aftermarket Porterfield pad part numbers I bought.

and then it does say that the 2010 changes that the brake system is updated. So the 09's are probably the same as the 08's.

It does make you wonder what happened to make Ford switch the rotors, calipers and brake pads to a new design for the 2010 models. Perhaps it was a cost saving move, perhaps it was auto parts supplier sourcing problem.

I was wondering what the specific changes were for the 2010's as well. I was assuming a bit larger rotors, pads, etc. for better stopping power....anyone have the details Has Ford released these details yet?

I think I read somewhere that the brake system was redone for 2010 for better stopping distance. But it could very well be something else (like auto parts supplier went under) and the better stopping distance was just a benefit of switching. I'm sure base prices for the 2010's are going to be up slightly.

Read on another forum the rotors are thicker on the 2009's than the 2008's and earlier. Didn't read anything that confirmed that though.

Napa shows the same parts 2008/2009 for front brake pads. Rotors are not yet listed, front or rear, nor the rear pads for the 2009.
