they package is pretty much just the sticker, nothing special done to the power train, just a certain combo of 4.6 3v, 6spd, and 3.55 gears

I thought 3.15 or 3.31 was the SFE axle ratio.

EDIT:

"The F-150 SFE gets that extra highway mpg by using low rolling resistance tires, a 3.15:1 rear axle and other items shared with the F-150 lineup like best-in-class aerodynamics, open valve injection and more aggressive fuel shut-off when decelerating. However, you can only opt for the SFE package on XLT Supercrew models with the 4.6L V8 and 5.5-foot bed."

"Ford said the new SFE package will be offered on F-150 SuperCrew XL and XLT 4x2 pickups with 4.6-liter V8 engines and 5.5-foot beds. The SFE gets the new six-speed automatic transmission, a 3.15:1 rear axle and 18-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels with low-rolling-resistance tires. It will be a no-cost option on XLT SuperCrew pickups with the chrome package and will cost $1,095 when ordered on XL SuperCrew pickups with the decor package."

"The new SFE package will be available on F-150 SuperCrew XL and XLT 4X2 vehicles with 4.6-liter, 3-valve V-8 engines and 5.5-foot beds. The SFE pickup will achieve 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway.

The SFE package trucks also feature a new fuel-efficient six-speed automatic transmission, a 3.15:1 rear axle and 18-inch chrome clad aluminum wheels with low rolling resistance P265/60R18 all-season tires.

"Earning the trust of so many truck customers during the past 31 years has taught us a lot about what they want and value from their F-150," O'Leary said. "In the past, there was a tradeoff – more fuel economy meant less capability and vice versa.
With the new F-150, we didn't accept tradeoffs. We delivered capability and fuel economy."

The SFE package will be a no-cost option on XLT SuperCrew pickups with the chrome package and will cost $1,095 when ordered on XL SuperCrew pickups with the decor package."

Wow, I hate to break everyones bubble, but according to the 2010 F150 order guide, Ford DID NOT DROP the SFE.

You can find the package outlined on page 25 of the og and you can see on page 11 that it is an option that can be purchased on supercrews of the XL and XLT still (order code 55F).

Avail: XL, XLT Supercrew 4x2 145" WB with 5.5 styleside box

Not available with Max trailer tow

Requires Decor Group on XL
Requires chrome package on XLT

Includes,
4.6L 3v
3.15 axle
SFE box decal
18" chrome clad alum wheels
p265/60R18 A/S OWL tires

Yea, so the order guides are wrong. I emailed Mike at Pickuptrucks.com and this was his response....

@Jeremy: The information was provided by Ford truck spokesperson Anne Marie Gattari, after I asked a question about whether the SFE label would continue in 2010.

Gattari said, "Since all [of] our 4.6-liter 3-valve 4x2s will achieve 15/21 fuel economy label, there's no need for [the] SFE [model]."

Order guides this early are about as reliable as the Beta build and price.
