LOL. I'll strap up to your brand new 09 truck with my 100k mile 04 and tow you around all day long.

I wasn't stabbing at you big guy, just a little sarcasm/comedy.

While removing the snorkel may net you a little power, you aren't going to feel 7hp so I would just leave it on for warranty purposes.

The stealerships will look for ANY reason to void it, no matter how small/ineffective. Best way to avoid any problems: dont mess with it.

Awesome how you guys can wreck a potentially good free mod thread by blowing off. Thanks for the tips to the guys actually contributing useful information... who doesn't want more power out of anything anyways?

remember the true definition of Horsepower should be: "If it doesn't scare you, you don't have enough".

For every yr you're here, Bluejay will credit your post count by 400. I can't wait till mid Dec. when I get another 400 added to my count.

Oh wait, I don't even own a F150.......maybe he'll still add to my count if I pretend to be a cool owner of an 09.

I say why not, pull the piece and get your 7.5 hp.

Can someone post a pic of the piece being removed?

In removing the snorkle will it allow more dirt to get to the filter faster? My wifes '08 Expy goes through a filter every oil change where my '05 F150 w/K&N didn't need cleaning nearly as often. I'm guessing my '09 will require similar maintenance to the '08 Expy... and more so if parts are removed.

The paper element was filtering more than the K&N too...

Is anyone like me wondering why the a/f ratios are soo rich? 11 to 1 in the performance tune and 10 to 1 in the tow tune. Seems it could make even more power if they were between 12-13 to 1???

The stock filters give higher filtration levels than after market performance filters. Thats why you have to change out the stock ones more often. The K&N filter less and allow more dirt into the engine. A quick google search will show you thousands of results for K&N being bad for your engine and gain you no more than 1-2hp even on highly tuned engines. Mos of the time the gains are lost within a few months because of dust getting into the engine and decreaseing performance.
