Can the stock Lariat STANDARD (non-Sony) dash kit be swapped with a double-DIN (sony or NAV) setup to achieve a space to install an aftermarket deck? Will all the wiring/Sync work correctly?

Considering purchasing a specific truck that has the stock 6 CD stereo, and would like to install a DIN sized deck and an add-on sub. Was considering buying a new Lariat (Woodgrain vs. the METRA black plastic) center stack piece to do this with.

i haven't heard of any aftermarket kits or anything, but I'm sure something will come out... i remember on the 08 hondas you had you buy the nav dash trim to put in an aftermarket radio, so i dunno maybe the nav trim will work...

 

Anyone know if the SYNC will work with an aftermarket radio with an adapter similar to the Focus?

 

Picked up my truck, haven't removed dash yet but wondering if removing the stock stereo kills the SYNC as well. Anyone tested?
