Wow...Very impressive!

Yesterday I packed up the truck and moved from Lawrenceville, GA to Fayetteville, NC. I put about 1,500 lbs. in the bed and hit the road. During my trip I was cruising at 80 mph. The truck rarely crossed the 2,000 rpm mark while in tow/haul mode and I got an average of 16.2 mpg. I also noticed there was no sag in the rear and the truck handled the same as if the bed was empty. I made this trip a little over a month ago and carried only a travel bag of clothes. During that trip I achieved only 11.6 mpg on average. I traveled the same route, during the the same time of day, and cruised at around the same speed. Is it fair to say that the truck is getting better? I've heard of some people producing better mpg results as the engine gets broken in and crossing that first 3,000 miles. Anyways just wanted to share my experience with you guys and say how impressed I am with this truck . This is my second F150 in the past 5 yrs., kudos to Ford , now the wife wants her own 09' I couldn't be happier .

Sorry no pics the camera is packed up and I didn't think to keep it out. I'm staying in a hotel right now but in a week or so when I repack the truck to move into my new residence I'll snap some pics.

I can say that the more miles i put on my truck the better the mpg seems to get.
