4.6L trucks have the 4 speed, not the 6 speed, which is what the TSB is for.

Then it was ordered that way. 6 speed comes automatically with the 5.4 or 4.6 3v, but you have to order it special with the 4.6 2v. Standard without upgrading is the 4 speed.

I just got off the phone with my dealer. He said the new programming (July) is for the 5.4L and the 4.6L vehicles. He wants it for the day though so I'm going to drop it off in the morning and pick it up after work. No a big inconvenience 'cause they provide a rental for the day.

For those with the 5.4L, there is a tech bulliten and you can take it in to the dealer to fix the shifts. They just need an hour to reprogram the system.
For those with the 4.6L, we're still outta luck. My dealer has acknowledged the issue but said they don't yet have a fix. I'm up to 1700 miles and the problem is still very persistent.
