4.6L trucks have the 4 speed, not the 6 speed, which is what the TSB is for.

Then it was ordered that way. 6 speed comes automatically with the 5.4 or 4.6 3v, but you have to order it special with the 4.6 2v. Standard without upgrading is the 4 speed.

It probably has more to do with the trim package. Perhaps all the XLT Crew Cabs come with it from the factory.

That and my truck has the 3v in it. So maybe that's it.

Yeah - My XLT came with the 4.6L v3 6 speed tranny too.

I just got off the phone with my dealer. He said the new programming (July) is for the 5.4L and the 4.6L vehicles. He wants it for the day though so I'm going to drop it off in the morning and pick it up after work. No a big inconvenience 'cause they provide a rental for the day.

For those with the 4.6L, we're still outta luck. My dealer has acknowledged the issue but said they don't yet have a fix. I'm up to 1700 miles and the problem is still very persistent.
That’s not true, I just took my truck to the dealer a couple of weeks ago and had them reprogram my truck. They knew of the issue. It took them 1 hour to this and 1 hour to reprogram my speedo because I changed tire sizes. Even had them do an oil change It runs 100x better
