I'm headed outside right now to do the same. It really pissed me off today when some Dodge Ram-diot took me off the line . Fortunately I beat him to the next light, but a little more on the bottem end will be nice.

Talking Snorkle

I removed mine when my truck was a week old. I noticed a small difference.

He got about a 5-10 ft. jump on me but I took him shortly after. I should add that I was hauling about 500-600 lbs. at the time. The distance traveled was slightly less than 1/8 mile.

ill post a pic later if i can....the actual snorkel has a small opening in the front of it...restricting airflow since the opening in the airbox is prob twice the size....i thought the same thing about the warm air being sucked in but on the sides of the snorkel there are holes all around it (think wiffleball) .So if by design the engineers put holes on the sides, they dont mind if air gets sucked in from around it....

Had to replace the battery in my son's car today, so while the toolbox was out, I loosened up the airbox and popped the snorkel out.
didn't seem to be as restrictive as I thought it would be, but will see how it does tomorrow.
(Only drove it a couple of blocks afterward).
Would like to add something to attach it to the fender opening, but don't know what to use yet. (almost cut off a chunk of the extension tube from my leaf blower, as it was a perfect fit to the opening on the air box).
