Fx4 supercab box size

Hey everyone,
I am a new member to this forum and this is my very first thread, So.... here we go.

I currently owned a 2002 Lariat Supercrew with only 69k on it.

It was my first truck when I was a freshman in high school. I just graduated from high school last months and I am getting a new truck. I choose to get the 2009 Fx4 Supercab, but I am stuck on whatever to get a 5.5ft or 6.5ft box size.
I am worried that the long box would be bad for offroad performance, For a example: The SVT Raptor is rolling on the short box. What does anyone think?

Thank!!

P.S. I am a offroad freak and this is going to be my very first 4x4 truck

How hard of off road performance will you be going? Will you be keeping the stock frame on the 2009 F-150?

Here is my 2 cents:

Are you planning on doing much hauling? If the answer is no, 5.5 is the way to go. I had an 06 Screw with the 6.5 and it was nice. Took it hunting in many tight places, but always wished that I had bought the 5.5 for reduced wheelbase. I am sure this is why the Raptor is configured that way.

Not too hard like the SVT Raptor will take. I just want a good truck for offroad rather than using it for working or hauling

Yeah, I never used my 02' Screw for hauling since it has the max trailer tow package in it.
