Post Up Your 09-10 Mods

Hey Guys, Im trading in my 2006 lariat in next week to buy a 2009 Platinum. I went and looked at the truck today and fell in love. I do plan on doing a few mods to it. Its loaded and even has a spray in bedliner. Ill start with tint, Snuglid sl tonneau, 10,000k Hids, led interior lights, 2 JL 13"tw5s, RF Amps, 4 6x9s, and maybe lower it a bit with some wheels, then a intake, and Weather Tech Mats for the inside. Thats about all.

What has everyone done with their new trucks? I would also like to know what type of intake anyone is running. In my old truck i had the k&n 66 series and a magnaflow exhaust. It sounded great and drove nice. Thanks for any info. I WILL get pics of the truck. Probably same day i get it it will be in the tint shop.

Actually.....I got kind of tired of looking for the right mods for my '08 XLT plain-jane - after a couple grand of appearance mods, I still wasn't satisfied. So I bought an FX4 w/lux package that had everything I wanted from the factory -

All I did was tint the front windows, and put a Truxedo Lo-Pro Tonneau on, and called it good to go for now.

10k hid's are going to give you sod all light output and prob loads of problems with the law. If i was you i wouldnt go any higher than 8k if you want good light output and colour. I would get 6k's my self as they are more like the BMW/Audi/Range rover colour and brightness.

10,000k HIDs put out less usable light then halogens do. As the kelvin temp goes up light out put goes down. Think of it like putting black lights in your head lights. I would highly recommend the 6000k, you will instantly notice the increased light out put and usable light.

1. Factory bed Mat

2. Factory rubber floor mats (I think they come standard in the FX4)

3. Tinted front windows

Hey F_ast - do you have a photo of the grille inserts installed?
I know you probably posted a pic somewhere, but I must have missed it....

Edit: Duh....I found the pics in your album.

Thanks

WeatherTech window deflectors
F-150 logo bedmat (from previous 2004 truck)
Lorado roll-up cover (from previous 2004 truck)

I want to change the speakers all around, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get to them. I know I could start prying around, but not a week old truck! The 2004 was soooo simple for speaker swap-out!

You'll need to pop the door panels off to get to te speakers - a really simple process. Do a quick search and you'll find several threads on how to do it.

Rears, I figured that. But the fronts too? I was happy with how they did it on the 2004-2008. Oh well.

Thanks for the heads up!
