Blistein shocks

Hello

I have an 09 FX4 with 2" leveling kit ...with 18" addicts and 33" Nitto TG'S my question is if I were to put on Blistien shocks what would the difference be compaired to the stock shock's?

love my set up now but I am just curious and seem to have caught the bug to keep adding to my truck
Thanks for any and all input.

i don't think they make the shocks for the 2009 yet but if they do i am a blistein fan i.m.o they do a great job i had them on a 2005 f-150 super crew made it ride like a car and when they come out with the 2009 i will get them.

yep they don't have then yet but they are working on it. I offered up my fx4 but they had one already to work with. They said it's about 4 months for the production version to come out, adjustable 5100 series (up to 2.5") and heavy duty it think. I asked the same question when I was talking to the bilstein guy about what the difference would be. I said I'm now sure how you are gonna improve this sweet ride and he indicated that ford does have the best oem shock compare to the others but that they will start to fade after time where the bilsteins don't. Probably a little stiffer ride also I would expect.

No, the shocks themselves are not nearly strong enough to actually raise ride height. They only dampen the ride.

I am not a suspension guru but I would guess that you would notice better off road performance but not so much around town. The oem shocks will get softer/mushy after a few years and I plan to swap mine out after that. Also I think if you got the adj 5100 series it would add hight even with the leveling you have done. When I spoke with the bilstein guy he said that the adjustables are better than leveling cuz you add travel not just lift. http://www.bilsteinus.com/Height_Adj_5100-Feb06.pdf
