Very interesting. Sure doesn't look close to 4,500 lbs as I've stated before. All they did was raise the back axle up 50 lbs and raise their GVW. They are just running closer to the max then before. I'm betting your going to overload the rear axle before you hit the max payload unless you can get the weight in the bed very far forward. What's the scariest part is that they are willing to do this 35 PSI of air in the P metric tires, I'd bet if you went to the Tire MFG site and looked at their load vs pressure charge that ford is 4 to 5 lbs low.

I've looked at all the mad load ratings of all the Ford factory tires and even the 20" p rated units all had lots of room for 09. That said I put LTs for my comfort level...

My 04 rear axle max was 3417lbs. (1550kgs) So 4,050lbs is a pretty good jump. Thats @19% increase. IF thats the identical axle.. well then the "20%" cushion is gone.

How is the 20% cushion gone? 20% of 4500 is what I said and that was if ford even put a cushion on their "max" raiting. Reading comprehension is important. please reread thread then speak.

You assume I was referring to your thread. I was not. I was referring to Barritias earlier post where he speculated that there would be a 10% - 20% cushion over the max rating. Clearly your emotionally scarred from your 03s axle breaking. Fine. That happens. While we have yet to find the 2010 HD GAWR #'s, most of us doubt it’s the same axle that 'broke' your spirit. IF it is, then shame on Ford. However in any event, based on your condescending tone it seems you’ve got other problems...

Here is a good build-up article comparing a '97 9.75 to a Semi-floating Dana 60.

Hmm, my 2003 Screw 4x4 is 3800 pounds rear axle rating, 3600 front. A 2004 should weigh a few hundred pounds more than mine, and the 2009+ weighs about 800 pounds more.

Your right my bad. Sorry 3,417 was my weight i had writen down with everything before I hooked up the trailer. The 04 rear GAWR was 3,850lbs.
I found an old post where a '09 HD F150 had a rear GAWR of 4,800lbs. (Non-HD was 3,850 same as 04) Given the gvw etc is the same, safe to assume the 2010 GAWR rear is also 4,800. So then there must be some diff on the rear axle for the HD for 2010? Some guy had a payload chart for the '09s with gawr. Can't find it for the 2010s.

The Heavy Duty (8,200GVW) Payload pkg has had a 9.75" rear end in 2009 & 2010. And rear GAWR on these models is 4,800lbs. So either there are two diff versions of the 9.75" rear end, or the 2009/10 F150 has a higher capacity unit over the <08s? Your guess is as good as mine. Either the max tow 2010 F150 is near the edge of 4500lbs, or it has a healthy cushion. Not sure how we find that out?

1500 pounds on a Platinum? Oh, there is a Truck God! Since we downsized our trailer, I have been thinking about the 2010 F-150's, but after I was sold down the river with my 2008 with that puny payload, I have been a bit skeered. I have to assume a loaded Lariat Screw 4X4 would still come in around 1600-1700 pounds payload. Has anyone confirmed these numbers besides the Plat above?

My 2010 Lariat Screw 4X4 door sticker says: "The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 594 kg or 1310 lbs." I have 18" wheels. 5.5 foot bed.
The GVWR is listed as 7200LB/3266KG.

So you don't have the Tow Max option?
