wow, $600 is a bit much for a plastic grille.

like I mentioned in another thread, Ford used to sell the Harley parts cheap on the last new model (2006), but later jacked them up after I assume they realized alot of us enthusiasts were buying them. For example, the 06 Harley grille was originally around $140-150 through Tasca, etc., but later was raised to over $300.

I would guess it is vacume metalised plastic - that is what you get these days with most crome trim pieces.

My $.02

The Tasca guy said "no plastic"...but who knows? Until I actually see it, I won't believe anyone.

I went with the Roush... $100 was an easy decision.

Watch the video. Mike Levine says the grille is billet....(ie not plastic.)

"The exterior emphasizes the Harley F-Series styling heritage. The front end features a strong six-bar billet grille (the sixth unique F-150 grille we’ve seen on the current truck, for those of you counting at home) that draws inspiration from the radiator fins of a V-Twin Harley-Davidson motorcycle engine."

roush would be a great idea....if only they made parts for the 2009-10! i've got my eye on the XLT chrome edition grille for the time being until more options are out there.

The grille on the Platinum is real aluminum.

$600 is about right for an OEM Harley billet style grille. They do not want every joe blow with a base model buying all of the Harley parts and tarnishing the brand.
