Any recent news on the new F150 engine lineup?
6.2L in raptor/harley definite with availability in other models(what ive heard).
Anyone know what models and when they are released/available in the trucks?
Tried searching didnt find to much. This is really the one thing holding me back on the new truck. then im like hmm ... if i wait till '11 for engines why not '12 for the "remodel" ive seen a couple places online

2011 or 2012 should bring the ecoboost 5.0L "coyote" engine. Google "Ford 5.0 coyote" for more info. Prelim numbers are 400hp/400 ft lbs DOHC 5.0L that may replace the 5.4 completely. A 300 hp V6 Ecoboost will also be available. The big torque of the 5.0 will let ford run a deeper overdrive (0.5-0.6 range) and squeeze 22-23 mpg out of the F150. The V6 is theory would make 1 or 2 mpg more. and would probably be a likely replacement for the curent 4.6.

Also, ford will probably keep the 4.6 in some form, most likely the 3v as a base V8 at least for a few years to appeal to the "traditional" motor guys who may be scared off by the ecoboost V6 or the higher cost of the coyote V8. Just speculation right now but its typical to do this to appeal to the buyers who are afraid of change.
Look for the Coyote V8 to be in the mustang late 2010/early 2011. Ford will test it out so to speak in the mustang before they put it in the F150. Much like the 96 mustangs 4.6 before the 97 F150 4.6 debute.

Ford has stated the 3.5EB will be the premium offering abovethe new 5.0L. The EB in truck form will reportedly have even higher #s than the Tarus SHO which is at 355 hp. So the EB will be closer to 400hp. The 5.0L in truck form will reportedly be in closer to 350hp. The torque of the EB should be much better than the 5.0L (for truck use)
As of today it sounds more and more like Ford will offer the 6.2 in the std F150. http://forums.pickuptrucks.com/ubbth...e=1#Post577908
These engines will be in 2011MY F150 with production scheduled to begin mid November 2010.

Didn't they just remodel the Super Duty in 2008? Sounds as if they're talking about an all-new design for it for 2011?

It's been awhile since I've seen anything new, but the stuff I saw in the past seemed to point a bit more towards 2014 for an all-new F-150, not 2012. Those 2012 F-150 plans seemed to disappear when the new mid-size truck plans, w/all-new lightweight frame, went bye-bye as the economy tumbled and truck sales dropped like hot rocks thru butter. And now I'm reading articles about new plans by the govt. to mandate new MPG standards by 2016. That could impact any new launch plans for a large vehicle too, as FMC (and everyone esle) would need to work damned hard to get a pickup anywhere close to those new 2016 proposed pickup/SUV average MPG standards. My '09 only averages 15-15.4 w/99%city driving. MPG has got to be their biggest focus, for sure.
