FX4 Display Center

When looking at all the F-150 trim packages I noticed that the Lariat and Platinum offer MPG average and "till empty" information on the digital read out in the display center. If I understand correctly the FX4 does not.

Can any of the FX4 owners tell me if I am wrong? Does the the FX4 give the same information. If I am correct, why in the world would Ford offer it in some and not all of it's different trim levels?

Excellent! Thanks for the quick replies. I do remember reading that the XLT offered it too. For some reason the material or web site I was researching didn't list the FX4 as having that feature. Common sense we telling me it should. I'm glad I'm right. Maybe not though since now I know it will show me how bad my MPG will be when towing my 7x14 box trailer. Oh well it will be better than the 1998 Expedition I am replacing.

Thanks again!

it doesn't, but it does it in a slight different way the plat and Lariat have the option of a bar graph display, they both have a couple extras over the FX4

My FX4 has these items, but my understanding is that the Lariat and Platinum have a real-time MPG indicator option as well.

You don't have to watch your MPG - there are a few screen options -

MPG display
Miles to empty
2 different trip odometers
blank display

I'm having trouble with the display also. As I scroll through it I can't decide what screen I should use. The one I'm using now shows the mileage but above that has "Timer". I tried to find that in the manual and found zip on it. Anyone know what this timer thing is for? Only jumped in here and derailed because you got an answer. Sorry about that.

Copy/paste from page 102 in the manual:

Trip elapsed drive time
Select this function from the INFO
menu to display a timer.
To operate the Trip Elapsed Drive
Time perform the following:
1. Press and release RESET in order
to start the timer.
2. Press and release RESET to pause the timer.
3. Press and hold RESET for two seconds in order to reset the timer.

No worries. Your post looks very related to me. I won't be in my truck until late December (currently in Iraq). Any body who chimes in with any 2009-2010 F-150 info is OK with me.
