Tire Pressure

What tire pressures are you guys putting in ur tires?...I have a 2010 Fx4 with 18s

Im runnig the stock tire/wheels so just what came in em, I think its 40psi

I could have sworn the tires have the recommended tire pressure stamped/molded on them?

usually +2 to +4 of whatever Ford recommends...just to help with wear.

you have the p-rated or optional lt-rated 18's? I thought the recommended pressures were 35psi (p rated) and 40psi (lt-rated) for the 18s.

Ya i know what they stamp it, just wanna get an idea if people are putting more or less then 35psi...

I go with what is listed on the door jam. For me (20's) it's 35psi cold.

If the tires are OE, go with the pressure that is on the door.

Tires do not have the recommended pressure molded on the side. What they have is the maximum cold pressure the tire can handle and what weight it can handle at that pressure. Do not use the pressure on the tire as all you will do is wear the tire out much quicker.

If talking about aftermarket tires, then the answer is it depends. If you purchased the same load range tire with the same maximum pressure, use what was on the door, otherwise, you will have to figure out what to use.

245 75R/17 LT these tires were a $300 option...50# on the doorjam sidewall sez 65# for max load.
