3-4 month wait and plant closed?

So a local dealer tells me this morning that delivery for a factory order F150 will be 3-4 months and December is shot because the plant is closed. Anyone have any insight or more accurate information than this?

perhaps they are shut down for major truck changes like at the end of a model year.Perhaps those major changes will be the long awaited new engines so many have wanted.Maybe the 2011 will be eary?

sounds like what mine is saying, my lease ends in late Feb, so they told me to come in by the end of Nov to order it so that it gets here on time.

Ford has reduced F-150 output at Kansas City in order to meet demand and build more of the Escape, which the plant is set up for. Does not affect Dearborn though.

I ordered an XLT and an XL 4x4 Screw in early to mid October and they've both arrived at the dealer already. The dealer had allocation and oredered with a priority 10 instead of 99. One only took 3 weeks and the other was four. Not sure why your dealer is telling you 3-4 months.

I ordered mine Oct 9th, and it was built Nov 2nd. In transit now, per my dealer.

I ordered my 2010 F-150 Lariat Supercrew 6.5' at the dealer on 12 Oct; I had it in my driveway on 31 Oct (19 days).

The dealer said he sent the order to Ford on 14 Oct and it was delivered to the dealer on 30 Oct (16 days).

Truck was built at Dearborn. Don't know why they are telling you so long.

Dearborn will be closed after the Christmas shutdown for retooling to build regular cab trucks. Currently they do not and cannot build them. That may be what the dealer is talking about. If your model is to be built there it may be awhile. That's what I am hearing.
