Added Recon White Lightning...

also added cargo bed lights...but I don't have pics of those yet.

We (my brother-in-law and I) hard-wired the Recon in to the brake lights and reverse lights rather than mess with the trailer hook up. We also used stainless self-tapping screws and bolted it right to the bed. It's not going anywhere.

very nice. Is that the "Fire & Ice" bar?

How'd you do the hard wiring? When I mentioned this to someone they said they bought a trailer kit for their truck that plugged in-line with the tailights so they didn't have to get into the factory wiring (and it's not permanent). Seems like a decent way to run something like this, especially for those of us who are electrically challenged.

It's similar to the Fire and Ice. The White Lightning is a solid one-piece. The F&I looks a little different.

We wired into the factory lighting. I didn't want to leave it plugged into the trailer hookup...looked odd to me...also, I didn't want to leave that open all the time, especially through a Wisconsin winter. So, in the trailer/tow kit that came with the truck, there was a piece of paper in there that explained what wires were what. We simply tapped into the wires in the tail lights. Had to clip off the Recon plug, peel apart the wires and run them individually to the factory wires. Wasn't too bad.

True, that would look nice... maybe the door handles as well with the chrome handles? (lt's if they fit?)

Thanks. I agree about it being odd looking and not wanting to have it open all the time. Having to unplug it everytime you were going to tow something would annoy me too.

Very nice, looks good. I'm still on the fence if I want one of these or not.
