Squeaky Rear window

Well, I thought I had gotten away from my problem I had with my 04 FX4 with the rear window. But today it has started to squeak when hitting any rough patches of road. My 04 had to be "greased" several times about every 4 months to get this to stop. After my warranty they decided I needed a new window and wanted $400 to do so and would not grease the seal any more. Even after they had did it for at least 6 times. After getting Ford involved they agreed to footing half the bill. I know there was a TSB on the 04 for this problem, but I was hoping the 2010 would have this fixed, but either my luck just sucks, or it is still a problem. Anyone else having any problems? Thanks.

Creakys, but no squeek like in '04.

I have an '09 platinum, and it has random creakys coming from assorted places in the interior for no reason, same as my '04 Lariat had. Thought the Plat was supposed to be super-quiet, but alas, that is def not the case.

Haven't noticed any squeek coming from the rear window though. AND it actually works, unlike my '04 where after about 2-3 years it started acting wonky and would only open or close when it felt like it.

So, you aren't alone in being driven crazy by random noise that is even more aggravating by the fact you can't even find where the random creaks are coming from, duplicate them when stopped, or be able to stop them by any means other than cranking up the stereo and trying to ignore the one you can still hear coming from driver side left ear area.

This problem is the seal/trim/gasket around the rear window. When it dries out, it will squeak when the cab bounces around on rough roads. You can actually push on the black trim outside the rear window and hear the sound it is making. I know what you mean on the rear window, mine worked randomly during warranty and then about 3 months after stopped and never opened again. But there was a TSB for the noise I am talking about, that was either fixed by greasing inside of trim piece or taking out window and putting some type of felt between window and trim. I would have thought they could have fixed that in 6 years!

04 TSB number??

VOLMAN, do you know what the TSB # is for the 2004 fix. Wondering if this might be helpful to reference for a fix, or at least identify that this is an ongoing issue.

I have been having this same issue. My 09 SCrew is only 6 months old, I would hope the seal wouldn't dry out that soon!

Thanks for the info.

Just a thought but could it be from the rear center seat belt riding on the seat back? My 07 intermittently does this.

My rear window squeaks when it is open, when on anything but smooth roads.

Does the TSB for the 04 apply to the newer trucks?

Guess I got lucky this time. Last new Ford I bought was a '78 E-150 which would rattle and squeak everywhere when sitting still with just the wind blowing hard. I still marvel at how quiet my 4x4 XLT is in the cab even when going over Michigan roads which are the second worse in the nation.
