Ford release sync API

This could mean some pretty cool things for the sync system.

Just updated my Sync, took a bit longer to restart once it reboot than I thought it would. And it has to reindex all the music on my hard drive. But hopefully this version is a bit more stable than the first version.

I installed version v3.1 but I dont see anything else to update or install???

For those of you that have the 2009 F150 with Sync have you been able to upgrade Sync to the 2010 MY with the navigation feature?

I looked on syncmyride.com and the only upgrade I found was the v3.1 upgrade.

Isn't that ONLY for the 2010's ? All I could find for the '09's was ver 2.1

Mine is a 2010 so I guess this thread is for the 09's?

2009s cannot be upgraded to offer TDI. 2010s should come from the factory with TDI already installed. 2010s come with the GPS module required for TDI.

That's because your truck already has 3.0 from the factory. I assume you entered your VIN, ran the status checker, and uploaded the results to Sync. If there's an upgrade, the Sync website will give you directions on how to install.

The thread is about Ford/Microsoft releasing the Sync API to third party developers. MY doesn't matter.
