Not quite ... Lariat and king ranch have heated AND cooled fronts (if u have captain chairs)
King ranch has heated rear as well just as the platinum does

sorry - King Ranch and HD both can option heated/cooled seats, but this was a comparison of the Lariat and Platinum....btw I dont really consider the HD a 'real' truck because it cannot haul or tow much of anything.

I can confirm the Lariat has heated and cooled seats, I sat in one today.

Does anyone know if the Platinum has the same hideous fake wood dash that the Lariat has?

no, it's not the same, it's a little more darker looking wood, looks pretty classy to me. I like it much more than the Lariat's.

are you from Canada? sometimes Canadian trucks have different options than the US trucks. like in the US, the Max towing with the big tow mirrors is not standard on the Platinum, it's an option. also, you were wrong on the heated/cooled seats as pointed out by shotgunz.

hmmm...I was incorrect on the cooled seats with the Lariat (see above, I had been pricing out an FX4) but I am pretty sure that the Max towing and big mirrors are standard on Platinum. at least when I price one out it shows that it is standard, you can also physically look at the leaf springs and see that Max Towing option adds an additional leaf....so if you are checking trucks on the lot it is an easy way to find out quickly.

You dont have to have max tow with the platinum. If you do and get the big mirros then you lose the electric mirror deploy and retract. You also get the extra leaf with any F150 with 20's no matter what.

It would also suck if the Plat came only with the Dumbo ears mirrors, those things are too big for the 150, IMHO. Slap 'em on a SuperDuty - now they don't look so oversized.

Then again, I've even seen the ugly tundra with elephant sized side-view's too... so some people must like 'em. I assume on a 150 they would help with towing or hauling wide loads, and I assume on a tundra they help with spotting growing rust areas and spare tire fall-off's.

I tow that 7ft wide trailer all the time and the normal mirros are fine. Nothing wrong with them at all. If you were towing something 9+ft wide then im sure the bigger ones are better.

My boat/trailer is almost 115" wide and I really appreciate the tow mirrors, especially trying to back down my driveway after fishing all day.

In addition, the tow mirrors eliminate any blind spots for everyday driving.

yeah anything 9ft+ wide def get the bigger mirrors if you tow it every weekend. If you only tow it the 1-2 times a year i would just get mirror extensions. I never trust mirrors for blindspots no matter how well they work. Always double check my self. Bikers can get in some pretty good posistion where you cant see them.
