It is the same button as the rear window defroster in mine.

Boataddict is correct. Turn on your rear window defrost button and it turns on your heated mirrors.

same button as mentioned. press it and then feel your mirror after a minute or so, it should feel slightly warm.

Perhaps he doesn't have a rear window defroster button. I have an '09 Platinum and I don't have a rear window defroster (), but I do have heated mirrors with a button for it. I believe it's two buttons to the right of the Power button (the one that has the little circle with slash thru it that looks like an XBox 360 power button).

So you have horizontally: Power, Windshield defrost, Heated Side-View Mirrors and I think last button is A/C. Top row of temp control buttons, obviously.

Boils down to this...if you have the rear window defroster - then the heated mirrors and the rear window defroster are operated via the rear defrost button on the dash. If you DO NOT have the rear window defrost then you will have a heated mirror button on the dash to operate the heated mirrors.

I used my heated mirrors during this big storm we got last week. One thing I noticed is that my drivers mirror was clear in under 1 minute. However the passengars mirror took at least 10 minutes to clear off. Has anyone else noticed this? I went from a 99 xlt so this is my first truck with heated mirrors so maybe its normal, just curious.

actually mine is the opposite, I just noticed today the passenger mirror cleared within 2 minutes, but the driver's mirror took about 7 or 8 minutes. I had the heated mirrors on my old 04 truck and I think they were pretty even.

I haven't noticed any issues with that, although the side-view's on my '09 seem to frost more than my '04, not sure if they're farther away from a heat source or bigger or what the deal is there, but it doesn't bother me in the least I just crank on the heated mirror button.

What I have always found odd is how car companies never seem to make the windshield defroster:
a. long enough to cover the entire windshield bottom
b. in the right spot so that the heat is always blowing right onto where the wipers rest, so that it helps to keep ice from building up on the wipers themselves which is the biggest irritation in inclement weather.
