Dead pedal / foot rest

Dead pedal / foot rest
I know a lot of people dislike dead pedals and/or find no useful purpose to them but I do like having one.
My Mustang has one and I find it helps me be more comfortable on long drives. A 2010 Tundra I test drove had one but that was definitely not enough to get me to buy the Tundra instead of the F150. However, my 2010 FX4 does not have one.
Has anyone installed one in a 2009/10 F150? If so, how did you go about doing it?
To me this is a "nice to have" thing, not a "complain about it all the time because it's not there" thing.

Let's see, time to start the parts list for this enhancement...
An assortment of pieces of wood, sheet metal, screws, glue and carpet...check.
Propane torch...check.
Fire extinguisher or garden hose...check.
Various tin snips...check.
Duct tape... check.
Red Green show dvds for instructional / reference purposes...check.
Rube Goldberg t-shirt for motivation... check.
Variety of adult beverages...check.
This is going to be fun.

I got so use to the one in my wife's Camry (yep, it's a Yota and I bought it for her. 7&1/2+ years old and not one trace of a peep out of it). Back to subject at hand- That I couldn't stand not to have one in the truck. Heck, I use it around town even. I simply looked around at what I had in the way of materials and built it in a couple of hours. I liked the one in the Camry so well that I modeled it after that one. I used some 5/8 in. 7 layer plywood that I had some small pieces of. I had some nice material that I had some left over from another project that I covered the outside with. I had some 12 or 14 gauge aluminum ( I have a brake and shear) that I made the bracket to bolt it to the side wall (the bottom sits on the floor so the aluminum is just to make it good and solid in place). I used part of a truck trailer mud flap that I had some pieces left over (about 1/4 in. thick) that I screwed to the top with black countersunk phillips screws around the perimeter and then I took a die grinder with a 1/8 in. cut-of blade and cross- scored it diamond design. It looks like Ford built it with the truck! I absolutely love it. I get in my brothers '07 f-150 or another brothers '07 Dodge 2500 Cummins, both without one and I hate it! They really need one, and once you get used to how comfortable it is driving with it, you never want to drive without it. I even hole sawed a hole in the top of it (where you can't see) to slip the wheel locks key in to hide it.

Must be a japanese car thing, I remember some Toyota I rented a few years back had one, I was thinking what a stupid idea. I am tall and have long legs and it just got in the way for me. I think I also remember some late model Taurus rental car I had also had it, and the floormat kept getting caught under it
