Question Fuel tank size

On the Ford website under the specs, it says the F-150 comes with a 26/36 gallon fuel tank. So which is it?

Isn't the 36 standard on a FX4?

The 36 gallon tank is standard on all 4x4's that are regular cab with 8' bed, supercab with 6.5' bed and Supercrew with 5.5' and 6.5' bed. Everything else gets a 26 gallon tank.

All 4x2's get the 26 gallon tank with the exception of the 4x2 Harley Davidson model which gets a 36 gallon tank and all 4x4's get the 36 gallon tank with the exception of the 4x4 standard cab with short bed (126" WB) which gets a 26 gallon tank.

According to the 2010 Ford F150 ordering guide the 36 gallon tank is an option only on XL and XLT 4x2's with regular cab and long bed (145" WB) for fleet use only.

I stand corrected. I was taking my information from the 2010 F150 order guide and I missed the 26 gallon tank on the Raptor. This is not an excuse but the Raptor is handled separate from the other models.

At $3.00/gal, 26 is enough some days...

The cost is the same, it just changes how often you have to stop. I put a 50 gal cell in my diesel. I hated filling up three times a week with the 30 gal stocker.

I love the 36 gallon...I'm only at the pump twice a month.

hell with as good of gas mileage i get with my 4.6 standard cab long bed, i only have to fill up once every 3 weeks with my 26 gallon. most cars only come with a 12-14 gallon tank. in my old bronco with a 33 gallon tank, i was still filling up every 10-12 days.
