Looking for some unbiased opinions (if such a thing even exists...)

I left the dealership a couple days ago happy with my choice of a sterling grey FX4 Screw 5.5 ft bed. Now I'm not so sure... thinking I may want to call and change it to black.

Planned upgrades: Black N-fab steps, 2.5 AS level up front with 1.5 add-a-leaf in the back, Raptor tail lights, Tint, and Black wheels (undecided which wheels atm)

After seeing some of the blacked out trucks on here, I'm having second thoughts about the sterling grey with my choice of mods.

any opinions?

If anyone has pics of the two colors to compare that would be great. (couldn't really find any Grey trucks with those mods yet.

Thanks all

I think that would look pretty nice on the grey. I love black trucks but it is so much work to keep looking really nice. Black on a lot of different colors doesn't look to good in my opinon but on the grey I think you'll have a winner.

I have the black. Its cool when clean but I find myself cleaning it every couple days. I love the silver. I would stay with that. You can still black it out and it would look awesome. Great choice.

Stick with Silver, there are far less of them on the road. You'll come to appreciate the rarity of the color down the road.

black is so hard to keep clean ( i have one now) and when they are "blacked out" they kinda look the same to me. i think i would keep the silver.

I was torn between the two colors myself... I went with black mostly because it's what really appealed to me when it came down to it. It boils down to upkeep of the appearance... To keep black looking good it takes a little more effort and once it is perfect it unfortunately only lasts about 5 to 10 minutes... I'm a gluten for punishment as I keep going back to black.

In the end you just need to really look at the two and decide what YOU will be happy with. The sterling is a nice color...

I was in the same boat as Mickey, torn between silver and black. I decided if there was something on a dealer lot that was what I wanted but was only available in silver then I would take it. However, if I was going to be factory ordering then I would get what I REALLY wanted, which was black. Needless to say I'm anxiously awaiting my BLACK FX4 Screw.

I'm not looking forward to the constant cleaning though

I've seen pics of a grey F150 with black mods and IMHO it looks much better than a black truck that is blacked out. If your going for the blacked out look or just want to add a few black mods I think you'll be much happier with the grey color as the grey color is going to add substance to the look. In conclusion stick with the grey, mod it out, and be a little different. Good luck and great color choice.

I think the Sterling Grey with blacked out accessories would look great, like the boys said, black is a very hard color to keep clean. Stick with your instincts and original choice!

My opinion is to go with the grey but with a 6.5' bed.
