as i said, the discount was shown in your trade not on your purchase, which also helped you on your taxes, its nothing wrongwith it. just common practice. nor was i discrediting your deal, you got a good deal. just explaing to those in doubt, how it really works...

USAA does not provide rebates. They just pre-negotiate the price down or close to invoice. I'm guessing he got the 3500 from Ford, another 1000 for financing with Ford, and another 1000 for trading in a Jap car. Thats 5500 right there.

This makes more sense, thanks. I didn't trade anything in my purchase.

Sorry I didn't answer your question.. I am active duty military, and a college student. I got $500 for both.. plus the $4500 that ford was offering.
Being a USAA member the have what they Call a Car Buying Service. They help you negotiate price. And most dealerships respond well to what USAA says to offer. Then subtract the Rebates and cash down from there!! I will refinance with USAA after my first payment... Way lower interest rate! Pics will be here in about 24 hours!

If you don't know, there's no need to wait on your first payment to refinance. It'll take about a week or so for Ford to get your loan set up... once it's set up, get your payoff amount from FMCC and get with USAA. I did my refi with USAA and had it all done within 2 weeks. There's no penalty, you won't lose any rebates or anything... in fact the finance guy told me I was welcome to refi whenever I was ready, just give FMCC a chance to get the loan set up.
Congrats on the new truck!

excellent deal on what was basically the same exact truck as mine.
MSRP was $43280
paid $36000 even, OTD. that works out to about $33555 on the truck. looks like i missed out on a discount from buying in February instead of March, plus i didnt have the military or student discount, but im just as psyched nonetheless!
