Post water leak in headliner FYI

if your head liner leaks water when it rains its from the satellite radio hook up on the roof over the passenger seat just got back from the dealer & they are fixing it... noticed water was leaking from the passenger handle... supposedly they are puting in some gasket to stop the leak, just wanted to let everyone know plus i was wondering if anyone else has had this

Man, and I thought after getting the 3rd brake light leak fixed that my leak worries were over. Seems like such a simple problem that Ford should be able to get a handle on.

I'm picking up a 2010 Platinum tomorrow. Is this something I have to watch for, or will it have the updated gasket already? I'd hate to get water on that sweet interior.

I would watch your 3rd brake light also. That's the one that got me on my '09 and has been a recurring problem for several years now. Hard to figure out why they can't seem to get such a simple problem fixed in the factory.

This must be a problem because I am experiencing the same thing. I noticed around a left turn today that the passenger handle was dripping water. When I popped off one of the caps there was definitely water in there. Im glad you posted this because I was going to make a post seeing if anyone else had this problem. Now when I go to the dealer I can tell them where to look first. Mine is not leaking bad my any means I just noticed a few drops of water dripping out of it when I made hard left turns. Mine is a 2010 Supercrew built in September if that makes a difference. Thanks for the info.

Noticed the passenger handle leak today while making a left turn after several days of rain here in KC. 2010 SCrew Lariat, no sunroof. Does anyone have a TSB number I can reference?

well 1800 miles into my new screw had this issue appear on my truck. brought it down to the dealer along with a printout of the tsb (they didn't readily hear of this problem seeing they are a small dealer). they confirmed the leak coming from the sat antennae and had it fixed for me by the afternoon. even called me and thanked me for supplying a printout of the tsb for them to reference in the beginning.

if you have the sirius sat. problem then you most likely have the 3rd brake light issue... so i would suggest to all having them both done at one time.. over time the 3rd brake light will stain the headliner... if this happens tell the dealer you want a new headliner

ok figured id update this & just let everyone know that there are 2 leaks the passenger grab handle & the third brake light.. both are under warranty unless yours ran out, that includes sirius sat. gasket, the new 3rd brake light with news gasket on it & the headliner if it was stained
