Stilly, good move. Totally understand what you did, however we really like sleeping on our boat.

I went to my local dealer and test drove an F150 KR, I was IMPRESSED...I liked it alot more than I thought I would. I drove in town for 45 minutes and averaged 16.1 mpg in stop and go traffic. Thats double the mileage I get in my F350. Dealer offered me a good price on my truck in trade. My payment will drop by about $100 if I buy it.

Next question, KR or FX4? The FX4 is $4000 less and has the options I want except cooled seats (not available) and I hate the running boards (chrome step bars) almost broke my ankle once on those things. I love the KR.

I traded my 08 F250 KR 3 weeks ago for a 2010 F150 FX4. I love the truck. The 250 towed great. I have a 20 foot utility trailer that gets loaded with 4 wheelers and a 23 foot SeaDoo Jet boat on a 30 foot trailer. I loved the 250 cause it was capable. Most of my driving is on the highway cause I live a ways from the city. I just couldn't get past the the coolant leaks and the expensive oil changes.

Now for the F150. LOVE IT! It still tows well, not as well as the 250, but I just don't need the diesel right now. Im fresh out of college and trying to start a career. My boat is parked at our lake house in Illinois and I live in Texas. The 4wheelers get used on the odd weekend but I just don't need the diesel. The 5.4 is a very reliable engine. I had it in my 01 F150. Never had an issue with it. Someday I'll buy a cummins to tool around with but the F150 does great.

Now if your gonna stick with the 350. Talk to the guys at SPARTAN. You can get a tuner and a DPF delete kit that will help with the mileage. Also unless you're already there check out powerstroke.org. Great group of people and they always helped me with my 250.

Oh btw heres the breakdown.

08 F250 87,000 miles---$27000 trade. ----Clear title
10 F150 FX4 Sticker $43970--OTD $35000+TTL
Free spray in liner and 3yr/30000mile service.

Sorry for the long post. PM me for any questions. Hope it helps

Thanks for the info, I know the only thing I will miss about the 350 is the power. Looks like I've settled on a 2010 lariat loaded, Nav, Max Tow, heated/cooled seats etc...My dealer is offering me $9200 off sticker including rebates and also trade in on my 350 which puts me in an equity position so all in all it seems like a good deal. How did you get them to throw in the service plan?

Now that I've settled on a 2010 Lariat, how do I get more power out of it and who makes mods for it?

Not trying to be a smartass, but if you are already looking for more power, you bought the wrong vehicle for your needs.

Nice choice. I have had my Lariat for a little over a month and love it. The Lariat is the perfect combo of options and price. Congratulations on the new ride.
