Hey all... I have a question about the SYNC USB. I have a 16g HP Stick, & I added my music to it (About 7g worth... So far) I noticed that some of the songs weren't showing up on the SYNC menu, so I did a little research, & figured out the id3 tags were the issue... Or so I though. I went through each folder on the stick & edited the tags, to show artist, album, & so on. I plugged in the stick, & it "Initialized" but I'm still missing some music, & a few files I know for certain that I changed specifically, are still the same on the display, not the newly edited way.
Is there a "Memory" in the system that is storing the old info? Do I need to restart the SYNC & "re-load" the stick?

Any info would be appreciated.

I don't recall anyone figuring out how to force a full re-indexing.

You could try updating all the tags (even though you're really not changing them) or a master reset...

Also I was told on the 2010 Sony NAV units the software will update automatically, is that true? How about the firmware?

 

It's a Sony audio system and a Clarion nav system.

Sync firmware is updated via updates that are downloaded from Syncmyride.com.
