This is how I wired the brighter filament to be my running light on my VFR. Don't know if the Ford signals operate like this, or not, though.

If you wired them this way and had the running lights on and then you blinker would they just stay on? Becuase if the running light is on and goes off for the blinker to come on then the LED's would just stay on, they would be energized the whole time. Correct me if I am wrong, and if so please explain.

We? What do you mean we? You trying to steal my thunder?
I guess that means, great minds think alike.
I just beat you to it.
Ok we may just have to patent this. Know any good lawyers? Oh wait there's no such thing as a good lawyer.

I got cha man. Just couldn't resist. It's all good. Think about it, I posted this Monday and already 3. So one a day is not to bad for during the week. This weekend I bet "We" get a lot more.
For me, this is the best mod I have done. It improves the truck so much better by giving that crappy reflector something to do.

make it 4!!!, finally had a nice lunch hour.. took no time at all, hard to beat that 20 dollar mod.. The biggest pain for me was the mirror, also been thinkin about everyones want of the running lights.. it can be done with the spare l.e.d. its just gonna be a pain wiring it all the way back to the mirror thou.. For a clean job you'll have to use some of the unused pins on the male and female plugs that connect between the door and the mirror

Any one thought of how to do away with the headlamp turn signal. maybe find a way to install a smaller fog light bulb in it???? have to find d.o.t l.e.ds first

Nice

If I'm not mistaken, I think you have to have turn signal lights at the front of the vehicle somewhere, so you can not get rid of them unless you do like I did and put a light somewhere else, as in mine with the hidden bumper LED turn signals.

We need pics or it didn't happen.

Whoa, that's a lot of work. You need to get you a Dremel, well worth the money.

My modification on the motorcycle resulted in burning both filaments as running lights (i.e. super-bright running lights). It involved jumping the two supply wires, and installing a diode in the TS lead so the constant power on the front turn signal wire wouldn't back-feed to the rear turn signal.

If you wanted the turn signals to be bright all the time, then all you'd need to do would be wire the LED in parallel with the TS filament (after the jumper/diode mod), but after thinking about it more, there wouldn't be an easy way to do it and still retain normal park/turn bulb function.

Sorry if I got anyone excited. :o

Andy

I want to do this mod, but I'm worried (no, I know) that I will break something when trying to pry off some part of the mirrors.

Anyone do this near Knoxville and want to do another?
