I also did the 6 leds to match the factory turn signal because there is 6 leds from the factory

2010 Mod of the Year tbraquet! I did this over the weekend. The day before, I was making a left turn off a main road pulling a boat. There was a guy making a left turn where I wanted to go and he pulled out right in front of me and almost clipped me. He followed me into a gas station to apologize (class act by the way) but I bet if I had this mod he would have noticed I was making a turn.

I did break off both tabs, but just glued the reflectors back in. I bought back-ups just in case from Tasca.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad that guy missed you, and hope they will for sure in the future after the mod.

Great write up. I have next week off and plan on doing this. I ran by Autozone and saw the LEDs that were used. I also saw that they had amber colored LEDs as well. Now that a few of these mods have been done should I use the white or amber LEDs?

As for me, from the start I planned on using white, which is what I used. I guess I should have seen what the yellow/amber LED's would look like since I had a set that I used for my hidden bumper turn signal mod. I just think the white would show up better than the yellow/amber. JMHO
BTW. When removing the mirrors, I would use bankrpt's method of using a butter knife. It makes it easier to get in there than a screwdriver. Good luck.

Thanks everybody for all the great tips. Thank you tbraquet for the how to. I had to order my light strip online through Auto Zone because the store didn't have any and couldn't tell when they were coming in. Just waiting for them now.

I would also like to put the led in the cup holders but not sure what to use for led??? Any suggestions?? The kit from the dealer is outrageous!!!

I did the this mod yesterday an love it. At least now they have a purpose. The removal of the mirrors is a little tricky but as long as you take your time it is fine. Thanks again tbraquet!!

Add another one done! I thought long and hard between using the 9 LEDs or 6 and between using white or amber. I went with 9 and amber. I also put some clear silicone around the back of the lens in an attempt to keep dirt and moisture from getting behind the lens. Looks great. Thanks again tbraquet and the f150 online family.
