Interesting article. Wonder where they got their info about the next remodel not happening until MY2015?
2015? Wow. That's interesting. They are using some old information because they also write the F-150 is getting a diesel. With GM getting a remodel in the 2013MY it would seem to be a bad business decision to wait to 2015.

The 1948 F-Series said Ford across the front, so does the 2010. Differences are just a refreshment, maybe a significant facelift.

you could build a plywood box to the same demensions and put your cover on it, it would fit but doesn't mean it was made for it.

the 09+'s have indented fenders, new taillights, and a lip on the sides of the bed at the top where the tailgate meets.

OK this is getting rather silly. You guys can think its an all new truck and the rest of us (and Ford) will say its a major refresh. You can now pull your head out of the sand, you'll be fine.

Breaking news, the 2011 Super Duty is also a ALL-NEW design!!!! Nothing is carried over.

I think you're just mad because it'll be hard to get a 6.2 FX4

LOL So if they had confirmed a 2011 FX4 6.2l then I'd change my mind and think the 09 F150 was an ALL NEW truck even though it wasn't. Ok, we'll go with that.

I noticed yesterday that you can now order the 2011 Taurus. The new feature I noticed was HD Radio. And I know one of the Lincoln vehicles for 2011 is getting GEN II Ambient Lighting. Unfortunately, the 2011 taurus still appears to only have the Ford PowerCode remote start system. Seems like Ford must be having problems developing this new remote start system they claimed would be available on the 2011 SuperDuty & then other vehicles to follow. I don't think it has this new MyTouch thing yet, though I'm not sure just what added benefits it would provide me anyways. The HD Radio option does not mention the "tagging" feature at all. That would be too bad, as the tagging feature sounds very cool.

At any rate, I always like to check out the new tech features FMC is putting in their vehicles, and then imagine that maybe, just maybe, they will put some in the F150, which is already seeming pretty dated with all the new tech out nowadays, like BLIS, Adaptive Cruise Control, Massaging Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, Adaptive Headlights, Push Button Start, etc. etc. Then again, Ford can't even get Upfitter Switches in the 150, never mind LED tails or HID heads.

Perhaps a total re-do in 2012 IS in order, maybe encourage them to add some of this stuff since they seem unwilling to in this current configuration. I can understand since it would be VERY difficult to replace one of those useless cubbyholes in the center stack with Upfitter switches, never mind all the other tech... ...yeh... c'mon Ford, get with it. Put something in the '11's besides the new engines. 2010 only got GEN 1 ambient lighting, bigger brakes and a rear defroster. Oh, and the elimination of Stone Green and that ugly Amber Gold color.

This may be the stupidest post I've ever read. What is more stupid than this post though is the fact I participated in it! Whether anyone calls the changes whatever they want stick to a simple logic. If you want it, buy it. If you don't, don't. I'd say that's just my $.02 worth but frankly I'm not sure posting in this thread (which again, I'm stupidly still doing) is with $.02.

Regardless, good luck to everyone with whichever truck you have!

I was doing some searching today and found another reference to the all new F-150 in 2015-1016. But it's CNET/Auto News so you don't know if they have any idea about what they are writing about when it comes to F-150's.

"Ford will redesign the F-150 for the 2015 or 2016 model year and switch it to a new platform, which it calls P552."
- Automotive News August 2, 2010

Edit: Something for the Super Duty fans....they also say a Super Duty redesign is expected for the 2014 model year.

I went from a 1997 F-150 XLT SCab w/6.5 foot bed 4x2 to a 2010 F-150 FX4 SCrew w/6.5 foot bed 4x4 and I can tell the difference. Doubled my towing capacity. The new truck is a beast compared to the old one. The new F-150s seem to be able to do what the F-250 could do back in 1997.

The old truck lasted almost 14 years. There was nothing wrong with it. I'd still be driving it if my needs hadn't outgrown it (i.e., the old truck didn't have a towing package and I had a new need to be able to haul a 7,000 pound trailer, my kids outgrew the church pew in the back, et al). I'm hoping the new truck will last at least 15 years.

Well back to original ques.'Will The Truck Survive' instead of this lame argument, I say YES. Most high school guys where I live all drive trucks. Last one that was sold on my street was bought by a high schooler.
Back in the day (when I was a high schooler), anyone that was driving a pick-up was either a construction worker or a farmer. My Pop was a farmer. I hated driving our farm truck to school cuz we had homemade 6'-0" livestock racks on most of the time and we raised porkers. Ain't no other smell in the world worse than pigsh1tt.
I had to park downwind from the school but it sure beat walking 4 miles.
Trucks will be around after all of us is long gone.

Thanks for the link, Rambo! You're like the Mike Levine of F150online.

EDIT: Does this mean I'm back to buying a 2011? Oh boy, choices choices...
If I do buy an '11, I'm going to have to join the modding crowd and get some HID's and LED's crankin' throughout the truck, both exterior and interior. My wallet feels empty already...

Comet, Once everyone starts driving around and posting about their 2011's, I don't think you'll be able to hold out until 2014 CY for the next model. What color have you picked out? Golden Bronze?
