Trade 6.5 bed for 5.5 bed
My parking situation might be changing, and I was wondering how hard would I get hit at the dealer if I needed to trade in my 2010 FX4 6.5 for a 2010 FX4 5.5 bed? I only have 4k miles but still may have to look for one to come on their used car lot, unless the 2011 are out soon and they have left overs

No idea about the trade value, but you won't be seeing the '11's for quite some time, I don't think they even start building them until November for some reason. Rumor has it, because of the new engines. Unfortunately, I doubt they'll use that extra time to add anything cool to them either, like MyFord Touch, BLIS, Gen II ambient lighting, adaptive HID's, LED turns/tails, massaging seats, heated steering wheel, new remote start, push button start, etc. My guess is you'll only see the new engines and perhaps that new 4x4 select thing (I'm guessing that's the extra **** the guy noticed on the interior doing the 2011 Raptor test drive).
If you bought new, you'll probably take a pretty good hit trading her in so soon, but then again, I'm sure the older trucks with the older engines will drop in value as the new engines make their debut and people don't want the poor MPG/power/whatever else.

08 to 09 is not the same as OP. Not only was yours a model year newer, it also included a major design refresh.
OP just about has a demo truck @ 4k miles that I usually discount $1/mile for. If you can wait for MY11's newer engines, I would do that regardless. I stand by my estimate that he can negotiate a new truck minus trade in for $4k. If you are willing to buy/sell privately used, you can come out much closer to even, except paying sales tax when registering.
Can you quantify the parking situation changes? Is the 1' shorter mean fit in a garage for example?
