Sound Damping rear vent?

I know i've seen this in a tread before but cant find it, and i'm not sure if it was for the 09-10. I've got a Screw cab, and i have the rear sats out, and the rear panel board out also. there are two vents on the rear wall at the bottom corners. When ever you put the cimate control on, the vents open allowing in tons more road noise! if you use the recirculate button, the vent flaps will close. It almost acts as if the vents are elctricaly wired into the system. Has anyone covered these up completely? if you arent even aware of thses, you'd be shocked how how much noise enters through these two vents!!!

There was a thread about someone that covered these and caused all kinds of problems. He had to go back through and reopen the vents. Can't remember all the details, but you might try a search for it.

Yeah, I was trying to find that thread... I'm surprised that he ran into issues since when you have the climate control set to recirculate, the vents stay closed anyway, its not untill you take the recir button off that you see and hear the flaps open. I figured sealing them would be like running in "recirculation mode" all the time.

Something else I thought of. If you do not have the ability to exchange the air from the cab, it will be very difficult to get rid of excess moisture. Things like clearing a fogged window would probably be tougher.

In the past I have used some 1" thick foam to cover the vents to help tone down the noise, but still allow for air to flow through them.
