New/old guy: New 2010 XLT 4x4

Tomorrow, 5-24-10, I'm going to pull the trigger on a 2010, Oxford White
F150 XLT 4x4 with the 4.6 3v V6, 6 speed auto in the Supercap configuration.
I stupidly traded my 1998 F150 4x4 in on a Jeep and 2 yrs ago and regretted
it the next day. To late, they sold my pristine 1998 not a 1/2 hour after
I drove off the lot with the Jeep. Nearing retirement, 5 yrs from now, this will
be my retirement vehicle and last truck I ever buy. I don't put but about 3000
miles a year on a vehicle, about 10,000 a year on my bikes, so it'll still be
dang near new in 5 years.
Anyway, if there's anything I need to watch out for in the 2010's or other info
I need, please let me know?
Thanks,
Dano

Which options did you get? Bed length? Good choice in trucks... Sure you'll enjoy it and you should get decent MPG with that 4.6.

No problems with these trucks. They are solid.
Watch out for the first oil change. The filter was torqued on by a 300 lb gorilla

^That

Also I love my 4.6 3v. It gets up and goes nicely when i need it and gets pretty good gas MPG for all the short drives and turning the truck on and off. But thats what happens on a 5 mile island. I love this truck. Best buy i ever made. Oh I forgot to say my truck is sexy as hell too! LOL I get alot of looks everywhere I go.

Got the Prefered Equip pkg 507A, XLT Convenient pkg, Drivers pkg, Prem
Captains Chairs pkg, Sync Voice Activated Pkg, Crome Step Bar, 7000#GVWR
pkg, 3.73 limited slip and 17" Alum Wheels. Only thing it didn't have that I
wanted was a Bed Liner. I'll eventually put Herculiner in it but until then I
want to protect the white paint as much as I can. So when I call them in
the morning to tell them to get it ready, I'm going to tell them to put me
a bed liner in it too.
I only get around 14 to 15 mpg in my Jeep so if it gets me 15 to 16 I'll be
pleased.

Forgot, I'm getting the Supercab model.

Dano, You're getting a 4.6 V8. There is no V6.

I had a 1998 NASCAR Edition and a 1998 XLT 4x4 Off Road. Never had a
problem out of either of them. I traded the 4x4 for the jeep and like I said,
I've regretted it every since. My Jeep Sahara hard top is a great ride and if
I could, I'd keep it and get the truck too but I can't. I have 28 acres and
every time I turn around, I NEED A TRUCK! I thought I could get by with the
Jeep and a trailer but it just ain't working out. I've had other trucks, first was
a 51 International 3/4 w/ a 2 speed rear end. My uncle still has it. Last one
before I went Ford was a Chevy and I'll NEVER own a Chevy/GMC again. That
one broke me. Sucker was in the shop more than my garage. If it wasn't
there for recalls, it was there because it was malfunctioning someway.
My next truck was the NASCAR F150. Had it for 3 or 4 years but really
needed a 4x4 so I found a 98 F150 4x4 that had 1/4th the mileage my
Nascar edition had on it and traded. Wish I still had that truck. The guy
that bought it lives a few miles away and I see it almost every day. He loves
it, makes me sick
Anyway, I'll be back in a F150 XLT 4x4 by Tuesday. The truck I want is at
a dealership a couple hundred miles away and they'll have to go get it
tomorrow. Only thing that would make it better is if was the same color as
my Nomad Trike. What can I say, I like Yellow

With 3K on my 5.4 4X4 I'm getting 18 mpg in mixed driving ( 70% hwy). You should get 15/16 easy. Unless you drive it like you stole it.
I do have the 3.55 LS so that does help on mileage.
