Speaking of leveling kits

I've been reading up on a lot of stuff on this board and it seems a lot of people have leveling kits. I'm only going to want to raise mine about 3" with 20s and as big a tire as I can get under it without any rubbing. I've read about people raising it 3" with spacers and leveling kits. I want to make sure I have as smooth a ride as possible. So my question is, should I get a lift kit or do the leveling and spacer thing? I'm looking for a quality ride on the road with large tires/rims. Hopefully I can get 37s to fit but if not, 35s.

I don't know if there is a 3" leveling kit. 2.5 is the biggest I can remember seeing. Do the full on lift kit. A 3" leveling kit, if you could find one, would put a tremendous angle on your half shafts, causing all kinds of issues. The lift kit lowers the front differential, reducing the angle on the shafts and ball joints.

I have the 3" level and 3" block in the back and so far no problems but you will not fit 37s my 35s rub the mud flap. But the ride quality is the same as stock

Thank you. I thought I had read this. I have to be careful. A 6" lift is what I would prefer but it won't fit in my garrage with 37s. 35s might fit but it would be close. That's why I was going to go 3" to have at least an inch of clearance. With 35s it should fit easy. I love the look of 37s with 20s though dangit!

Thank you. That's the kind of technical info I was looking for. I figured the shop would just say go with the lift to make the extra cash so I wanted to know from someone that had to preference what I did. Thanks again.

If you have a 09 or 10 you might be maxed with the 2.5" level. I did my own 2.5 AS install and can't imagine getting a 3" in there. Personally, I would go for the lift if you can, it is the better way to go for max tire clearance.

Look at other posts on this board. I think several have said they fit in the garage with a 6" lift and 35's.

Go with a real 6" lift kit. The 2" spacer is just for some more clearance not 35 or 37's sheesh...
