Removing Tailgate

I'm getting a led lightbar for the back of my truck and want to take the tailgate off to make it easier to instar the bar. What are the steps of removing it.

Note step 7, if you look there is 'tab' that will only allow the tail gate to slide to the side if at that 45deg angle.

Tailgates have come off pretty much the same way since they quit bolting them to the beds in the '50's

Literally a 10 second process.

I've done it a couple times now.. Take the cables off unplug, the back up camera if you have, then open gate from it's locked position about maybe 10% and pull up on the right side(passenger side) then slide out... Really easy if you know what to do

That's one reason why they have a lock. Just way too easy to steal.
