Yep, that's what I did with my 05 purchase. Keep calling Ford Credit after a couple weeks and ask for your account number. Once you have your account # then give it to the bank that you have lined up, they'll pay it off and you'll get financed for 3-4% less. That's all there is to it.

My dealer told me I had to keep the loan for 3 months also. I ignored him, nothing bad happened. I read elsewhere at the time the finance people at the dealership tell you that because they get a "kick back" from Ford Credit if you make 3 payments.

I'm waiting to see what the 2011 model brings.

Honestly, I am hoping for an ecoboost option with 22-24mpg hwy.

I'm waiting for the 2011 and hoping that the 5.0 will be in the lineup. More horsepower than the 4.6 or the 5.4 and better gas mailage too. I think that they will have a more agressive sound too with the 4 valves per cylinder and the increased compression ratio. I think it will be worth the wait. Less than 8 weeks we should be able to start building 2011's. - unless of course that 5.0 mustang gets me first lol!

Thats pretty good. I've been thinking about that as well. With the 6speed and 3.73's the tow ratings are good with the 4.6.

If you decide to get a 2010 I would recommend waiting until the 2011's hit the lot. That usually means major deals, and that way you could also decide which you prefer, too.

Also, deal at the end of the month. I just bought my '10 F150 on the 28th June. 14 days prior I walked away from the deal because the payments were too high due to the interest rate (which they claimed was the "best" the bank could do). Miraculously, on the 28th the interest rate dropped substantially. I guess they had a quota to make, I really don't care. However, it was obvious they were trying to screw me over on the deal the first time because they knew I could afford the high payments. Glad I walked away the first time!!!

The key with the 4.6 is to get the 4.6 3v with the six speed and correct rear. I had the 5.4 with the 4spd and 3.73ls rear in my 05, and it was tuned with exhaust and intake mods. My 2010 is stock and has alot more seat of your pants power then the 05 even had with all the upgrades.

Basically what im saying is even the new trucks with smaller v8's are miles above they predecessors.

Plus so far I'm pulling way better mpgs, especially highway then the 05 i had could ever dream of.

The new 5.4 wasn't interesting me, the old one was pain enough. That motor doesn't yield my interest for my personal needs. Plus i had enough of the known issues with the 05 to keep me away.

My bosses 2009 chevy 1500 ltz z71 with the 5.3 has ***** more then my f-150 for a bit, but it gets way worse mpg's even with active cyl management, and it got whooped by a 2009 with the 4.6 3v/6spd twice on the local strip. By a good length. So i had my mind set to begin with. Plus its alot cheaper!!!

The 4.6 3V is okay so long as you are not doing serious towing. I like the 5.4 much better in towing applications.
