Buy 2010, or wait?
Looking at a 2010 truck. Financing already on its way, but then got home and starting thinking.. Should I hold out for better deals coming this summer/fall, or you think ford isnt giving much? Also I heard the 5.0 might be the new engine to replace the 4.6 and the 5.4.. Worth the wait maybe?
I really want this new 2010, but dont want to stick myself in the foot either.

X2. I would never get a first model year either. Think about all of the problems the 04s have had.

Look at the situation with the 5.0 Mustangs. Many of them have have been held up for weeks for "quality concerns". I agree, don't buy the first year model, or at leasts not the first of second run of them! I don't think you will be able to get a truck with the new engines for anywhere near the good prices that are out there on 2010s. It is your choice, but good luck getting a 2011 Lariat with a MSRP over $40K for $30K like I did with my 2010.

The 6.2L vs the 5.4L is night and day IMO. You can get great deals on the 2010 F250 now, but then again, re-sale down the road - anyone looking is going to want the 6.2, not the 5.4L, assuming no problems.
Is the 6.2L going in the F150? That will have a hefty sticker, considering the demand vs F250.

I guess it all depends on if they are actually going to put the 6.2L in the F150 According to this thread, https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...eculation.html, it sounds more like it's going to be the 5.0L

How did you get 5,000 off?? 3500 is tops in my area unless you go through ford credit which is 8.99% even with excellent credit, then they give you another 1,000 off. The ford dealer even said ford credit is nuts. Other banks have much better rates especially for higher credit customers. The extra 1,000 isn't worth it.
I bought my 2005 used with low miles and paid more for my 05 used then this 2010 truck is new with this deal. I still owe two years on the 05, and at the time got 9% interest, so my payments are more then the 05 is worth me paying. I can get the 2010 for half+ the interest, and with an overall price 3,000 less then i paid for the 05 so basically getting a brand new one for 100.00 less a month.
They are giving me 18,000 for trade on my 2005, plus 3,500 cash off, plus much much better interest rate. I was out of town all day so the salesmen left a message on my cell and I never got to call about how the final numbers turned out. Monday a.m. I will find out if this is really a good deal or they made it happen with term length or that bs dealers like to pull.
I'm not interested in screwing myself this time around, even the bank said my credit is too good for a bad deal, which is always great to hear, lol!
Chevy has a great deal going on right now, but couldn't get myself to buy one of them, they are total crap now i was horrified with the quality of materials and such. I'm not leaving ford for that crap.

Take the crappy 8.9% Ford financing to get the extra 1000 rebate. Make one payment then refinance with your bank at the better rate. That's what I did. Your dealer may tell you it is required to make 3 payments before refinancing or______? But I checked into it extensively and you only have to make the first payment. You'll come out ahead.
