i feel your pain, giving up the 2005. i had just got mine broken in before i did the unthinkable and traded in ol' silver. i even went over and had a moment with the truck---just me and the truck. she promised to remain loyal no matter where she went, and i told her there was always room in the driveway should she feel the need to come back home. i still miss her, but i love the 2010. she's slowly makin' her way into my heart.

I feel the same way about my '96. She was just a basic truck, didn't even have the lights on reminder, but she was great and is one of the reasons I'm looking at the 2010's and impatiently waiting for the 2011's.

Maxout--Nice truck.

Haha, well i have a very heavy right foot, and the truck now has 375 miles on it and the 22mpg average was city and highway mixed.

For a truck thats not even broken in yet to be displaying that kind of mileage is incredible.
I drove 75 miles yesturday and the fuel gauge didnt even move, and it has the same 26 gallon tank my 2005 had. My 05 would have used an entire 1/4 tank with that 75 miles and i could just watch that gauge move while driving in the 05.
So even if fords mpg reader is way off, its still a min of 5mpg better then the 05 so far, who knows if that lasts.

the new truck is the 4.6l 3valve with the 6speed tranny and 3.55 rear, old truck 5.4l with the 4speed tranny and 3.73 rear. Which BTW I noticed NO difference in power between the two and my 05 was tuned, so ford did a good job updating the 4.6l to the newer style.

thanks for all the comments guys!

you have to watch that gauge. when i fill up it says 500+ to empty. as it nears empty the faster the miles to empty decrease. not very accurate as the tank empties imo. i always calculate from gallons filled and mileage driven to get mpg. i don't look at what the truck tells me.

Nice new truck you got there. Is that the STX model? And I hear you all about being attached to your old trucks. I can't bring myself to get rid of my trusty ole' 02'. Of course, the $0 a month payment might have something to do with it as well.

Thanks guys! Yes its an stx, with the motor/tranny upgrade option, power option package and lots of other extras. I had more options then the xlt that was next to it at the dealer. Had everything i wanted to a tee, well except the hitch..
