The actual hitch looks more like the 3rd hitch on that link (Class III Square Tube Hitch)

Does your hitch fit up in the truck like the factory ones? or is it the big square ones that hang below the bumper?

Any pics of yours on your truck you could post or email?

thanks for the help.

I don't know how the factory hitches fit. This hitch the crosstube is visible beneath bumper. I don't notice it. Don't have pics but if I remember I could take some this evening.

Thats way to much for an aftermarket hitch. I doubt any of the aftermarket hitches will fit like the OEM. If you look at one with the OEM hitch you will see its built into the bumper.

The price was for the oem hitch. I want something tubular at least, i hate the look of those 1980's looking square bar hitches hanging below the bumper.. dont care how cheap they are, lol!

I guess i may just have to pay for the factory one..

Check out U-Haul. Good prices installed and they put there name on the major manufactures hitches.

Are you sure that would be an OEM hitch? Its still a lot of money but I would pay it if its OEM. I hate the ones that look like an afterthought.

If you want an OE hitch, you'll obviously be paying more. If it's just for aesthetics, go for it if you've got the cash to burn. If you want a hitch because you have a need, and you'd rather pay a reasonable amount, go with Curt. Great quality, easy to install, and they're available in tubular if you prefer.

I do agree about having the square tube sitting below the bumper. Reminds me of old Chevy trucks.

Yes when i bought the truck yesterday thats the price the dealer gave me, in the ford dealers ford parts dept for the ford hitch and wiring. They claim that is their cost and they are helping me out. Called other local ford dealers who gave me same price, so how can the dealer i got the truck from be giving me their cost, they are full of it. Its not their cost, its regular price.

I want both, a hitch that isnt ugly and one that is ready for work. I tow all winter for three months straight and here and there throughout the summer/fall.
Just curious though why would I want the hitch if I didnt need it, lol!

I dont want that square crap from 1990 on the back of my nice new 2010 for sure.

definetly try uhaul, i got one on a 2003 model and looked just as good or better than factory, only took about 30minutes to install and was around 150 or 175 bucks, but that was several years back, but still would give them a try

Are you calling the service department or parts department? Anytime I have needed anything right after buying a truck I had good luck getting parts to match internet prices. Ie tasca

Don't worry about getting flak for paying for oem look, we all **** money away on these trucks, that's why we love this site

When i was making the deal on the truck the salesman got me the hitch for their cost. When i agreed to buy it three days later hey said THEIR COST was 360.00 uninstalled, 475ish installed. I said order it, but then told them to cancel cause every other ford parts dept can get it the same price so obviously i wasn't getting anything AT COST..

I dont doubt you one bit. Call the parts department directly, tell them you just bought a new truck from them a few days ago and ask for 20% off. Most of the guys I have dealt with in Parts have been pretty cool and usually respond well to a customer that knows what they are looking for.
