Who else went from a F250 to F150?

Correct, except in the chassis/cab configuration. I'm really talking about a used or leftover V-10, and I'd want a manual trans. Maybe the 6.2 will do a good job, but it still doesn't have the raw torque of the V-10. I'm certain that it will get a lot better gas mileage, the V-10 really sucks the fuel down. It pulls like a locomotive though. The only place where the diesel shows a major advantage is at high altitudes because of the turbo.

Just this past weekend, we lost another 6.4. Rear end finally went out, headgasket had been leaking (loosing coolant for about a month), and one of the turbos were gone. It was an 09 model. Only had 90,000 or so on it
I guess that'll make it three new 6.7s.
I surely hope these are better than the old ones

Use them, daily.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to fix the '09 than buy a new truck? Or are you just fed up with the 6.4 and want to get away from it at all cost?

They're all farm trucks. They seldom go anywhere unless loaded with hay, cattle, equipment, etc, etc, etc. Frequently in the neighborhood of 20,000 net lbs (sshhhh, don't tell the DOT )
Every single truck I've had since the 6.0 has come out has been a royal PITA. Each truck has had major work done under warranty, from transmissions, to fuel pumps, to oil pumps, to cylinder heads, to turbos, to rear ends.
It has been a nightmare from the get-go and I/we are completely sick of them.
The 6.0s were definitely not worth saving, the 6.4s will have some useful life left for someone who doesn't depend on it as a TRUCK. If all they need to do is pull a boat or horse trailer one or twice a week, I'm sure they'd serve them well.
The repair costs are a drop in the bucket, being without the truck is much more costly.
I wish we still had the old 7.3s. The last one I got rid of had close to 700,000 miles. The only MAJOR repair was a rear end replaced once. I think the oil was changed a grand total of three times. :o
